Trick or Twisted Treat?

“ZINNY!” Zinaida awoke with a start as Niveus, her Inner being, screeched her name in alarm. Fumbling for the light, Zinaida flicked it on irritably, regardless of the fact she couldn’t see Niveus. “What?!” she snapped irritably, still not having grasped the ability to talk inside her mind to her ‘other half’ “There’s an emergency, Onoma’s Inner Being told me! Ya have to go NOW” she could imagine the alarmed Inner Being waving her arms, but pushed this image aside and got up. “Right, I will dress and-” “ZIIIINNY! There is no TIME!” Niveus yelled again, and Zinaida sighed, grabbing her dressing gown. “Fine, where is it?!” “Main hall, now GO!”

Rushing down the huge corridor, Zinaida could feel her nerves building up. What if it was Cree? Or what if someone had died? Shaking her thoughts away, Zinaida pulled her short gown around her tighter. “C’mon, Zinny, hurry up!” Niveus taunted, and Zinaida grumbled but kept quiet as she almost ran. Quietly, as she reached the hall, Zinaida pushed the door open, peering into the gloom. “Onoma?” she whispered, before stepping in.

Infinitas stifled a giggle as she stood behind the door, and heard Zinaida enter. Pulling the scary mask down, she waited until the Noble fully entered, and leapt forward with a yell. “BOO!”

Shrieking, Zinaida jumped a mile, almost falling over. As she spun round quickly, she thought she could hear Niveus laughing hysterically, but paid little attention to it. Instead, she did the first thing that came to mind at the attack; fight back with newly acquired powers. Curling a hand into a fist, she held it palm-up in front of her, before opening it quickly. “Freeze the pathway!” she yelped as the thing lumbered quickly, and then smirked in satisfaction as the creatures feet were frozen in a block of ice “HEY!”

Blinking, Infinitas stared at her feet, before looking up at Zinaida “HEY!” she saw the Noble’s smirk die at that. Yanking the mask off, she glowered at her. “Infinitas!” Zinaida groaned, and Infinitas glowered on. “You froze my feet!” “You planned with Niveus to spook me?” “Yeah, as a joke!” Zinaida stared at her blankly. “Well, now I do not feel so bad…Happy Halloween, Infiny, have an ‘Ice-iny’ as a treat…”
